Following the VKBK Award earlier this year In4Art was invited for the second time to take part in an award for young, promising artists in the Netherlands.
The Icarus Award was awarded for the 3rd time by the Dutch national platform for Digitalisation called ECP on November 15th during their annual congress in the Hague.

The award is the result of a collaboration between ECP, Brave New World, deFusie and In4Art.

During the congress the 3 nominees Manuel Beltran, Felix Mollinga and the duo Sjoerd ter Borg | Mark Jan van Tellingen presented their work as part of the Art and Technology exhibition.
They were joined in the exhibition by technology oriented artists Jip de Beer and Ruben van de Ven.

At the end of the conference former Dutch minister and current ECP Chairman Tineke Netelenbos announced Sjoerd ter Borg and Mark Jan van Tellingen as winners of the Icarus Award 2018 for their artistic research project ‘Beach Umbrella’.

De Fusie’s Caspar Wanders¬†wrote a good article on the winners (in Dutch): Sjoerd ter Borg en Mark Jan van Tellingen winner Icarus Award 2018
