The final episode of the CleverfoodEU podcast explores how AI, artistic experimentation and ecology can shape the future of food systems.
In this episode, Valentina Gritti from the Slow Food Youth Network, interviews Lija Groenewoud van Vliet as co-coordinator of the European project Hungry EcoCities, reflecting on art-driven responsible innovation as a methodology to address complex societal challenges. This approach combines scientific research, technological development and artistic experimentation to develop new pathways towards sustainability.
This perspective is at the core of Hungry EcoCities, bringing together artists, scientists and industry actors to develop AI-enabled, art-driven experiments across the food value chain. Through residencies and collaborative projects, the initiative explores how technology and artistic innovation can contribute to healthier food systems.
During the Grand Gathering, the final event of Hungry EcoCities, Valentina Gritti meets several artists involved in the project, including Jeroen van der Most, creator of Vegetable Vendetta, Laila Snevele, creator of Phygital Seasoning, and Nicolas Rotta, with InstaGreen, behind Re-Source Society.
